What I find strange is what the starter would have to do with the car cutting off in the first place (since the starter shouldn't be engaging while the car is running and while it's in gear), and why it would interfere with putting the transmission into neutral. If an average brand has some kind of issue with, say, 3-4% of their vehicles and an average annual repair cost of $1000, an ultra-reliable brand might be 2-3%/$700 and Jaguar might be 4-5%/$1300. Or whatever the actual numbers are. It's relative. 95+% of owners have no real issues. Transmission not in park plus other errors. We recently got this 2017 f-pace r-sport 20d and so far up till now it’s been a great vehicle. we had left the vehicle in garage for 5 days and the remote app says it went to sleep. My 2017 35T had a noisy timing chain/system at 37,000 miles most evident at cold startup this winter. It was addressed 2 weeks ago and within the 5 yr warranty period. I picked it up from the dealer and went straight to my trusted PPF shop for full stealth PPF and ceramic coat, and all-around window tint. Inside is black semi-aniline leather and carbon fiber trim.
